Yippy! Time for my Toronto Trip update! Went to the big city this weekend, in hope to get some CNY atmosphere over at their Chinatown. The bus trip there's about 3 hours and when we arrived there, we started walking toward our hostel called "College Hostel" (it's near Uni of Toronto). And by the way, that's when I started on my never ending walking expedition in Toronto! Think we walked for about almost 45 min to reach the College Hostel and I was carrying my big yellp GAP bag throughout.. Okie, the College Hostel looks really ulu from the outside but surprisingly big on the inside, and it gives us a cosy feeling coz the person at the reception is a chinese and he has the same surname as RJ, Tan. haha... After putting down the bag, we decided to walk (again) to Eaton Centre, where it's the BIGGEST SHOPPING CENTRE in Toronto.. There's such so many shops there but we didn't have enough time to shop finish all, so we saved that for another day. Just had a dinner and ate Baskin Robins ice-cream there.
2nd day started off perfectly: with my fave breakfast, Dim SuM! Finally a good meal... SPent like 12 bucks on the wide variety of dim sums. of coz it's not as delicious as those in Spore but wad the hell, I'm craving for dim sum since I came. After that, we walked around in Chinatown and Kensington Market. Chinatown was really crowded and it reminds me Hong Kong. Everyone was speaking in Cantonese and when you see an ang moh in Chinatown, u think they came to the wrong place, like they're the minority! haha... Saw many chinese food and we went crazy looking for food that's available easily in Spore. Kensington Market's this place near our hostel that sells lots of vintage and second-hand stuff. It's a nice place and sells things at a real cheap price.
AFter that, we went down to Canstage (this theatre) to look around for shows that we can watch in the evening. End up buying tickets for "Take me out", this play which I'll elaborate later.. AFter buying the tickets, it's time for DINNER!! Walked around to find good restaurants and decided to have a good meal in Planet Hollywood. SPent 15 bucks sharing food with RJ and QL. We had FULL RACK or ribs which tasted fantastic and a salmon course. We were really satisfied. After tat, we had to take a cab down to Canstage to catch our play coz we were running out of time. So, it comes to the play. Pls dun be amazed, we watched a show that said "AUDIENCE ADVISORY" Naked Wit "Nudity". hahaha............... yah, it's a play about baseball. The team of MEN in Take Me out grapple with issues of friendship, race and sexual orientation as they are idolized by the public, and they give these issues a human face. It's a nice play (i guess) but I was quite taken back by the extent of nudity. Don't wanna write too much into details..
Anyway, after the play was time for clubbing but i dun really wanna mention about it either. We went to Guvernment, supposedly the BIGGEST club in NOrth America. BUt I didn't think it was fun at all! Hate being pushed around.. Yucks.. Wasted my entrance fee there. didn't drink alcohol at all, but bought a cup of coke for like 4 bucks.. sucks! Hate to say this but Stages' actually better than Guvernment.
3rd day started with a trip to Casa Loma, this castle (biggest castle in North America) with RJ, Karen and Minnie. It's the 1st time that I've seen a castle. Paid like 12 bucks for the entrance fee and inside, we can visit the different rooms and stuff. Shall post up some pics later. The rest of the 3rd day was spent on shopping. I wanna buy alot of things but i stopped myself (not entirely, I ended up buying 2 tops). and i told myself it's for CNY! I deserve new clothes for CNY even though I'm not in Spore, right?? haha...
