indulgin' the simplest pleasure of my life

The 1st rainbow by the waterfall I saw left me breathless.
I deem myself to be adventurous and still want to try sky-diving one day.
I love to laugh out loud and break into smiles easily.
Some may say that I'm easily amused, I choose to think the person is funny enough to make me smile.
I'm satisfied with what I have in life and awaits to see my future with open arms and mind.

I Love Skiing Sunday, January 30, 2005 1:12 PM
Haha... Had another great weekend! Beginning to wonder if I'll enjoy myself back in NTU. It's like another 6 months of holidays for me!! LOVE IT! Okie, so this's briefly what happened.. On Friday, we had this "Mystery Roadtrip" organized by Queen's School of Business for International Exchange students. So we went to OTTAWA! For those who have no idea, Ottawa is the CAPITAL of Canada. Nope, it's not TOronoto nor Vancouver, it's Ottawa! When we arrived at that place, we got into groups of 5 and were supposed to do a Scavenger Hunt. We were given disposable cameras where we had to take pictures of the place we went and we were given clues to find our way around. Okie, I think the Scanvenger Hunt part was total waste of time coz it was really cold that night and we had to walk outside for like 1 1/2 hours trying to complete the game. Anyway, we had dinner at this place call "Honest Lawyer". Before that, we made a mistake and went to "Hooters" instead. (all thanx to the SMU guys, coz we saw them inside and we thought that's our final destination. Only to find out later, they didn't really know where's the final destination). Okie, for the Scavenger Hunt, I think there's only one part of the destination worthy of a visit. It's the longest ice-skating canal in the world!! Well, I shall post some pics for you guys to see. I shall ice-skate there one day when I go back to Ottawa.

After the dinner, we went to a Casino in Quebec. Seriously, CASINO??? ME?? hahaha... I ended up walking rounds and rounds in the Casino coz we had 1 1/2 hours there. DIdn't play anything but JL tried the jackpot. But I was too stingy to try. haha. And then it was PUBBING!! Or rather CLUBBING! coz we went straight to the dance club (opps... I forgot to see which club I went) But anyway, it's fun! Took 3 drinks and danced around for a while but later to our dismay to find out that our dearest QL was missing!!! Took a great while to find her. We were all so worried. And I hope she didn't think that she spoilt our night by going MIA coz we just wanted to ensure her safety. We have LOTS of chances to go dancing and clubbing here!! No worries..

Reached back in hostel at about 4am and you know what? I had to wake up at 6.20am this morning (Saturday) coz we were going SKIING!! Oh man! THink I'm really falling in love with this sport. Totally amazing!! We had 2 instructors (Bob and Aaron) that taught us the basic skills. We skiied for like 5 hours (skipped lunch for that) just coz we wanted to make full use of the time. By the end of the day, I'm proud to say that all of us had "mastered" the basic skills of skiing and we are ready for our skiing trip in Vancouver!! Whistler Mountains!! Wait for us!!!

But I must say, skiing's a real tiring sport. It makes you fall, and makes it so difficult for you to stand up, especially when you fall in real awkward positions. It's so heavy to carry the skis up. And you know what? I've not even learnt to ski using the poles!! So far, I've only managed to ski down the slope using the skis, without the poles. We took the chair lift up to the beginners' hills and we ski down. It was so so so fun and exciting. But now, my arms are aching and my energy's drained from these 2 days! Must go and count the number of bruises I have! haha.. Just kidding!
